High Holidays are over, although we really didn't do much for them this year. Because of Nathan's schedule and my pregnancy, we cut down temple attendance some. However I did go to services yesterday and it was nice to have the excuse to take the day off work.
So far I'm still feeling okay. I've been getting some indigestion lately and leg cramps at night, but nothing too bad. Gary and I are starting to focus more on the arrival of the baby. About two months to go! Although we kept all our infant stuff from Nathan, there still is a list of things to prepare - set up the new cloth diaper service, get out all the boxes of newborn clothes and toys, pack our hospital bags, research and buy a double stroller, etc. We've started prepping Nathan a bit more too - books from the library and such.
Happy New Year to all those who follow the Jewish Calendar. We had a very low key Rosh Hashannah. Nathan was scared by the puppet at the children's services and did better sitting with the adults in the "Big Temple." We've been taking him to temple about once a month for Friday night services and he has been enjoying the experience.
Work has been busy and stressful for me for the last two weeks. It has been a perfect storm of staff being out unexpectedly, meetings to schedule, reschedule and prep for, and abnormal/urgent patients to help out. I am really hoping the coming week with go smoothly, but somehow I doubt it.
I think maybe someone flipped a switch on Nathan. After months of encouragement and cajoling, he's finally using the toilet consistently. It has been over 48 hours with no accidents or use of a diaper at all, other than while he is asleep. We haven't really changed our approach; if anything we've been more relaxed about using the toilet. This weekend's perfect potty performance just seemed to come out of nowhere. It'd be awesome if he was done with diappers by the time the next one comes, but I'm not counting on it.

Here's some scanned ultrasound images of boy #2 from my appointment today. The kid is looking good so far. Only two and half more months to go.
Last week was very busy at work. My secretary's father died unexpectedly, so she was out all week. Also, we were short staffed due to vacations. The office won't return to normal for at least another week, so I will continue to have a lot of tasks to juggle and delegate.
Monday I have another OB appointment, or as I like to think of them, another date with the baby. All is going smoothly with the pregnancy. The only annoyance is my nightly heart burn, but hey, in the grand scheme of things that is nothing. Also, I am having a very hard time thinking about and getting excited about choosing a name. When I do peruse baby name lists, I can't seem to find anything I really like.
I had a quiet birthday at home, mostly just relaxing and eating. I ordered myself a decadent chocolate cake from Essential Chocolates, enjoyed brunch at my parent's house, and got to sleep in late while Nathan spent the night at my parent's place.
