Date and new room

The weekend was great. We went swimming at Ray's house. Had Nathan spend the night at my parents so Gary and I could go on a date. We went to a pretty good Mexican restaurant; the only problem was that they served Gary a steak burrito. Mainly it was nice to have some non-child orriented conversation for a change. Overall, we had an excellent evening together and got to sleep in late the next morning.

I've also been focusing on getting Nathan's new room ready. We're cleaning out old stuff, moving furniture, and buying a new bed and bedding for the "blue" room. Perhaps this weekend he'll be sleeping in his new "big boy" bed. He definitely is in-love with the new Thomas the Train pillow we got him. Hopefully he will be equally excited about the new Thomas sheets and comforter that are coming soon.

I saw Harry Potter 6 yesterday with my mom. I have mixed feeling about it, probably due to the fact that I heard it was pretty good and had high expectations. I didn't like the new scene with the deatheaters at the burrow and thought there was alot less intrigue with the romance. I loved Slughorn and Malfoy and the other characters where fine. I think introducing the vanishing cabinet early was a good change. But the end wasn't nearly as dramatic as I expected. Having said all that, I still liked it enough that I'd be happy to see it again.

Things have been slow at work this week, which is nice. I took a prenatal nutrition class on Tuesday. I usually consider myself a reasonable health eater, but now I am resolved to eat a larger proportion of veggies. I'm also going swimming more.

This week, Nathan has been consistently refusing and/or delaying bedtime. He's trying out different strategies, "I'm hungry," "Need to wash hands," "Read another story," and the classic "I'm NOT tired."

And .... (drum roll please) .... it is a BOY!

Excited about ultrasound

I'm getting excited about my ultrasound appointment tomorrow. Then we'll know if the baby is a boy or a girl...

I had a nice holiday weekend. Nathan spent Thursday night at my parents house. He did great and I got to sleep in. Hurray for sleep! The rest of the weekend was nice too. Saturday we went to a pool party and Nathan was a champion swimmer. The only downside was Nathan's fear of the two small dogs at the party, but he did okay.

Viruses are running rampant. All last week I was pretty sick with a strong cough and cold. I'm still coughing, but much better. Nathan seems to always have a runny nose, but yesterday was bad. He had a high fever, but drugs helped. Thankfully my mom was able to pick him up from school quick. Today his fever was better, but he still is home today.

I'm still trying to get rid of furniture and make space for Nathan's new room. I want to get the old stuff out of there this month. I waffle back and forth between getting Nathan a toddler bed or a real bed. He wiggles so much and can travel all over his crib while he sleeps. Maybe I'll let him choose.
