We had a good time at Ren Faire today. Cathy was nice enough to make Nathan his own Faire shirt which fit perfectly. We didn't arrive until afternoon and unfortunately it was one of those Ren Faire days when the temperature got above 100 degrees. It pretty much saps alot of your energy. At first Nathan was cranky and hot, but I kept him cool with dousings of water and tastes of ice cream. We saw a couple fun shows and got to hang out with quite a few buddies who were also in costume.

I took Nathan to this exotic animal rescue shelter called ecostation. My coworker told me about it. They care for those illegal and somewhat dangerous animals that people smuggle in and abandon, like alligators, bobcats, cobras, etc. We got there when they were setting up for their Earthday festival and had a limited staff. Luckily we got small a tour of the facility, but unluckily Nathan got very scared by a big loud macaw (like the photo below). They quite a few exotic birds and some had loud, sharp cries. It made Nathan cry, so we didn't stay long.
I've having a crappy morning. Nathan's shoes, and my family members' comments about said shoes, pissed me off. I dropped him off late at daycare, which made me late for work. I made my first patient wait over 30 minutes and since I was so flustered, forgot to have her take important paperwork and had to run it over to the hospital. Oy, I hope the rest of the day gets better.
We had a nice first night of Passover at my parents new house last night. Nathan found the afikomen pretty quickly (if you look carefully, you can see it sticking out of the bookshelf a bit). In our family the parents hide it and the kids have to find it. Also, I'm glad that he likes matzah.
I took today off work. I've been feeling the need for a day at home to just relax and not have to supervise Nathan. It was nice, but the day went too fast. Also, this weekend will be a bit crazy with a passover seder on Saturday and Sunday. My parents will be hosting Passover at their new house which they just barely moved into.
I took some more pictures of Nathan with his beloved necklaces. He is so funny with them.

So Nathan has taken a liking to wearing sparkley beaded necklaces. He walks around the house taking the necklaces on and off and occasionally teasing the cats with them. Unfortunately, in a bizarre downloading transfer accident, I deleted all the cute photos I'd taken of him with his bling.
Okay, we've all been in situation where you're trying to find parking and you get really pissed off when some asshole parks poorly. I have often longed to leave a nasty note with the offending car. I thought about making some myself, and then I found YouParkLikeanAsshole.com ![]()
I have now printed out a sheaf of parking notices and if I happen to have my camera with me, I can upload a photo of the offending parking job to their flickr page. This will give me some small measure of satisfaction.
Everyone in the house has a cold; runny nose, cough, grumpiness. I blame the germ factory that is daycare.

Last Sunday we went for a visit to Santa Barbara. It was great to see my Grandpa George and Eileen. We were joined by Marek and Jenn. We had a nice time as usual. Nathan got to dip his feet in the ocean, but he wasn't very happy about it.
