Also, I don't know if it is Murphy's Law or the mean sleep deprivation fairies or what, but since I posted that Nathan started sleeping longer at night, 5-6 hour stretches, he hasn't. For the last couple weeks, Nathan has been back to his approximate 3 hour long sleeps at night. Last night was tough, with two 2 hour stretches. It makes me really tired.

I am happy to say I won the tournament, coming in first place out of 15 and winning $90. It is the first time I've even placed at one of our poker parties. Hmmm ... I wonder if my needing to take care of Nathan, which necessitated leaving the game for 10-20 minutes at a time and automatically folding for several hands, actually helped me. Taking forced fold breaks may be a winning strategy for me.
I find the story of Liviu Librescu, the 76 year-old Holocaust survivor who was shot and killed in the Virginia Tech massacre, so amazing. Reportedly, he was shot while holding off the gunman at his lecture hall entrance so his students could escape out second story windows. Oddly, he was killed on Shom Ha Shoa - Holocaust rembrance day.
I am very pleased that Nathan has finally started to sleep longer stretches at night. He usually falls asleep around 8:30pm and will stay down for about 5-6 hours. Then he normally sleeps two more sessions of about 3 hours each. Of course, he doesn't do this everynight, but it allows me to feel much more rested and I often don't even need to take naps anymore.
Also, I wanted to point out Brandon's blog about his adventures in and around Koreatown.
My lack of sleep was temporarily combated when my wonderful husband, Gary, went "on duty" Saturday night. That meant from 10pm to 8am I was able to rest. Of course it took me a while to fall asleep, and some moron called late at night to try to order pizza, and I had to get up and pump at 3:30am since my breasts were so full. But overall it really helped. Thanks Gary!
