Would you believe it - the first triple digit heat in Sacramento this year, and our air conditioning quits. I could barely stand it.
I had a lovely Memorial Day weekend. I mostly just slept in, played video games, and read. Monday it was so nice to have the day off. Gary and I went downtown to the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee. We saw several jazz and swing bands. Some of the groups were really good. It was also great fun to go dancing.
I have impetigo, a highly contagious skin infection, on my face and finger. What fun. I thought it was just a bug bite or something, but since the blisters started crusting over, I decided to go to the doctor. I just hope I don't get any lasting scars on my face.
This weekend went well, mostly uneventful. I spent some time with my cousin, Mallory, helping her with her homework on hemophilia.
We also went to see the number one movie this weekend, The Matrix Reloaded . It was very good. I liked the blend of well crafted action sequences, romance, sci-fi, and philosophy. Normally, I don't go for the action movies, but this had enough depth to make it intriguing. I'll probably go see it again. Many questions are left unanswered. And although I doubt a second viewing will illuminate me, it may better equip me to ask my brother Ari. He is a true Matrix guru.

Did everyone see the lunar eclipse last night? I had forgotten about it until my mom called at told me to go outside and look. I was pretty cool, but not too different from a crescent moon.
Gary is on overload from school finals. He has two enormous papers to write this weekend. Poor guy. He is pretty swamped. This also means I am stuck with a bigger share of household duties. But, he promises that once school is done we'll go on more walks together, play more computer together, etc.(wink, wink, nug, nug, say no more).

Last weekend, Gary and I headed out to Big Sur. We camped at Limekiln State Park. The park features the beauty of the redwoods, the rugged coast and the cultural history of limekilns. It has a large creek that flows from a canyon with a lush redwood forest, down to the sea and a rocky beach. Saturday we watched the sunset over the pacific as a couple schools of whales passed by. Sunday we went hiking in the canyon up to the ruins of the old limestone mines and a tall waterfall. We also visited Big Sur State Park, which was more crowded and the landscape wasn't nearly as impressive.
One the drive back home, we listened to the BBC Lord of the Rings radio drama. We also stopped in Santa Cruz to visit Gary's buddy, Mike. Overall, we had an excellent trip.
When I'm not eating, sleeping, working, or exercising, I'm often playing computer games. I'm mainly into the strategy/puzzle games where you don't have to kill much. I have gotten to the point in my current computer game, Black and White, where it is too difficult and frustrating. So now I'm on the look out for the next fun computer game. Unfortunately, there aren't many good candidates. If you have any suggestions, let me know.
