City of Thieves

Set during the Siege of Leningrad in 1941, David Benioff's novel is a thrilling historical adventure. City of Thieves tells the story of two odd fellows who meet in jail and are given a chance to redeem themselves, by going on a secret mission for the head of the police. The author's description of wartime Leningrad is so poignant; it kept making me feeling cold and hungry. The characters are rich and fascinating and the plot is alot of fun. I rate it a 9 out of 10.
