Stone Diaries
The Stone Diaries is a fictional pseudo-autobiography of Daisy, born at the turn of the century, adopted by a neighbor after her mother died in childbirth and reunited with her father in adolescense. Her first husband dies on their honeymoon and her second, much older husband, is her adopted uncle. The story is told with huge gaps and long rambling monologues. It is also odd in that it is told in the third person, but it seems the main character is the narrator. It was long on description and short on plot. I give it a 3 out of 10.
