How Few Remain
After promising Gary, I just had to read
How Few Remain by Harry Turtledove, a well known alternate history author. This is a story of the second war between the United States and the Confederate. I found the story and the characters uninspired. The only thing going for them is that their names are Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Custer. If it was just a war in some ficticious land, there would be no appeal. For example, the Confederacy is portrayed as the "good guys;" the only reason that is interesting, is because in the real world they lost. I guess, I just don't much care for alternate history. I rank it 3 out of 10.
